Wire Mesh Grill Courtesy of ??? This is an easy mod that only costs about $5.00-$10.00 and takes maybe 30 minutes of your time. I've seen the mesh grill kits they offer on some import and domestic cars, and I must say that most of them look really good, but I'd never pay $75-$150.00 for them.
What you will need:
Ok, first of all you need to measure out the dimensions of your grill. I think I started with a 6" x 4' section and just kinda worked from there. I have the stock foglights on my car and to make things easier, I chose not to put the mesh behind or in front of them. The mesh I used is actually a type of gutter shielding that is used to keep leaves and debris out of your gutters. It's made of aluminum and comes in 6" x 20' rolls. I found it at Home Depot in the fencing section for like $3.00 if I remember correctly. You can probably find just about anything that would work, but this works well because it already comes 6" wide which fits perfectly. All you really have to do is just measure out how long of a piece you need and mold it to fit your grill. I used black zip ties on every bar to hold it in place which works pretty well. Since my car is green, you don't really notice the ties until you get pretty close to the car. If your car is white or silver, I would use the white zip ties, bondo, or some type of epoxy so it's not quite as visible.
