Guage Illumination

First thing you will need to do is to remove the plastic housing that surrounds the steering column and instrument panel. There are 4 or 5 screws holding down the dash and the rest of it just pops off. After the housing is removed, you should be able to access the screws holding the instrument panel. After removing these screws, you will need to disconnect the wiring harnesses that are attached to the back. There is one on the left hand side, and there are two on the right. Once removed the instrument panel should pull right out. On the back you will notice black and brown tabs which are labeled according to which light they are for. Twist these counterclockwise approximately 1/4 turn or so and they will pull straight out. There are 5 large black tabs which light up the tach, speedometer, etc. These lights take bulb #194. The smaller brown tabs require #161. You can either buy colored bulbs (Auto Zone, Advance Auto Parts, etc...) or you can use touchup paint to paint them any color you wish. There is a piece of plastic behind the gauges, so it will give off a sort of greenish tint. I have yet to find a way to get rid of this without having to buy a whole new gauge kit which would be pretty expensive.
